Board of Medicine

Inactive Status

An inactive license is one that is not current and active. Physicians who hold an inactive license may not practice medicine or prescribe.

Physicians who wish to inactivate their medical license may do so by submitting a request to the board office by mail or
e-mail.  Also, failure to renew the license by the first day of the third month after the expiration date will cause a license to go inactive.  For example, a license that expires on January 1 will automatically go inactive if not renewed before March 1.
